Elctronic Journal of Social and Strategic Studies (EJSSS) - An online Open Access and refereed journal is now part of Praghna. We will continue to endeavor through the journal to encourage emerging scholars to publish their research through this platform. In order to encourage young scholars from developing countries, we have no Article Submission Charges. We will prescribe a minimum Article Processing Charge for works accepted for publication merely to offset administrative expenses and article doi.

Geopolitical Review (Online magazine) – This online magazine is the official blog of Praghna. Hosted in its own domain, it is a platform for students, scholars and eminent thinkers to voice their considered opinions/views of contemporary world affairs. Each submission to this magazine will undergo Editorial review in order to help us in maintaining standardized format as well as apolitical content. Contents of this magazine-blog are freely accessible through our website.

Internship with Praghna is in conjunction with Defence Research and Studies (DRaS), an independent Think Tank based at Kochi, India.

Internship with DRaS-Praghna

In its mission to promote research and publication in the areas of interest to both institutions, this initiative invites and will train young graduate, post-graduate and research scholars to undertake and write research articles/papers, case studies and book reviews.

Period of Internship

• For graduate students: up to 45 days

• For Post-Graduate and research scholars: up to 90 days

Program

• In the first session of internship, an orientation on research writing and book review techniques will be conducted online

• In the remaining period of the program, Interns will undertake study, research and draft work on a paper or book review with guidance from three eminent Mentor-Guides

• Interns are to attend weekly review meetings and submit their work as directed by Program Guide

• Seven days before the end of the program, Interns will present their work. These presentations will be for 10 minutes followed by Q&A

• The Panel of Mentors/invited guests will share additional inputs to the Intern for critically reviewing his/her work

• Three days prior to completion of Internship, completed papers and book reviews will be submitted to the Program Guide for consideration and publication

• The program is conducted online through Google Meet on every Saturday

What the Intern can look for

• Guidance from accomplished Mentors

• Learning about Paper writing, reviewing and citation styles (APA style, especially)

• Guidance on use of appropriate software for paper writing

• Critical review on research undertaken

Recognition

• Publication of research paper with doi in forthcoming Issue of EJSSS (only full length research papers) and on the website of DRaS

• Certificate of Internship

• Certificate of Publication of paper/book review, subject to acceptance of the work by Editorial Board of EJSSS.

Program Fee

The internship with DRaS-Praghna carries a fee of INR 1180/ (for UG students) and INR 2950/ (for PG students and research scholars). All activities related to the internship will be carried out through email, video conferencing only. Any research project undertaken by an intern for doing field study or for case studies will be at his/her own cost.

One of the Key Result Areas in academic institutions as well as research centers and Think Tanks is the conduct of seminars, conferences, workshops, etc, on important subjects of interest. The content and number of such events hosted by an institution is a critical indicator of the intellectual wealth of the institution and its capacity to foster research. The contribution made by such events for expanding knowledge horizons is well acknowledged. Their value in creating collaborative networks for advancing knowledge as well as individual careers needs no emphasis.

However, Professors in academic institutions, Departments of universities/colleges, research centers and Think Tanks also encounter challenges in organizing such events on account of the immense teaching load as well as other commitments.

Praghna offers an avenue for addressing this constraint. University/Departments, Think Tanks and Research Centers keen to organize webinars/seminars/conferences/workshops can join with Praghna to co-host their event. We endeavor to attend to organizing and conducting such events in a structured manner, allowing the organizer a leeway to remain committed to the qualitative aspects of the event.
